Grade Policy
Mr. DeWitt
Welcome
to sixth grade. I hope you are as excited as I am about this coming year. I
can’t wait to begin.
Your grade will be determined by
percentage. Tests will be worth two grades, meaning that a test grade will
count twice as much as a homework grade. When a quiz or test is graded I will
record this grade twice, so if a test grade is an 85% then I will record an 85%
twice. If the assignment is late then the student will lose 10 percentage
points per day that it is late. After 3 days, if the assignment is not turned
in, then a 0 will be recorded. If the student is not finished with an
assignment, then they will be asked to complete the assignment at milk break or
they may choose to work during recess. So it is very important that the Assignment
Book is signed and homework checked every night.
The
students will be following all rules set forth in the student handbook. These
listed below are my class rules.
Listen
and follow directions the first time asked. Stay
quiet while the teacher is speaking. Raise
hand if you have a question or a statement to make. Respect
each other- Treat others as you would like to be treated. Do
your best everyday. Infractions of class rules may result in one or
more of the following: 1.
Warning- Verbal/nonverbal 2.
Note home to parents 4.
Call home 5.
Detention after school If All of the students follow All of the rules for
every subject during the day the class will earn marbles. When the marble jar
is filled the class gets to participate in a 20 minute activity of their
choice. If there is anything that you have questions on
please call. Please sign and return Parent/Guardian
