November, 23rd, 2020

Good evening Everyone,
I am reaching out to remind everyone that our next scheduled pick-up and drop-off is tomorrow, November 24th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. We will have a pick-up and drop-off again on Friday, December 4th (this was not a scheduled pick-up and drop-off, so please take note). There are also drop-off and pick-ups scheduled on Friday, December 11th, and again on Tuesday, December 22nd. All pick-up and drop-offs are scheduled from 1:00-3:00 PM. If you have questions or need feel free to call.
Also, and of great importance, it is so important to our remote learning sessions to have our students participate; we can't do it without them, without every parent, without every grandparent, and every caregiver assisting us and supporting us.
In closing, please know that I know how hard this is on our instructors, support staff, families, and students. We can do it if we all work together. I cannot thank the staff and our Pittsburg families enough for providing our students with the best remote education possible. THANK YOU, PITTSBURG!

Mrs. Sherry

Good afternoon Everyone, November 1st, 2020

Our pick-up and drop- off times are as follow:

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2020 from 3:00-5:00 PM, will be the first pick-up. The materials you will be picking up will be for Wednesday, November 4th, Thursday, November 5th, and Friday, November 6th.

Friday, November 6th, 2020 from 3:00-5:00 PM will be the 2nd pick-up and the first drop-off of materials. The materials you will be dropping off will be the materials that were sent home on Tuesday, November 3rd. Please note, grades 7-12 may or may not have materials to pick up. Much of the instruction for grades 7-12 is sent via Google Classroom. Please have your child confirm this with their instructor.

I also wanted to clarify that for grades 7-12, the schedules instructors send home will be similar to the student's schedule that is currently in place, but the students may not be required to be on a zoom meeting for the entire 45 or 90-minute class. In addition, instructors have the option to videotape a lesson. Your child's instructor will be reaching out to your child with schedules, daily workload, and expectations. Students should expect regular contact with their instructors. Students will be marked absent if they are not responsive to the instructor's request.
For the elementary, the instructors will send home a schedule, which should be similar to the in-school schedule. With the nature of remote learning, you should expect some variation. More than likely, this will be more like a blizzard bag approach; the instructor will inform students and parents. This schedule will be sent home by your child's instructor or communicated to the parent in some way. As with the high school, your child is expected to be completing the daily work assigned the day it is assigned.
The instructors at both the elementary and high school levels will be checking in with students on a regular basis. Elementary instructors who have the needed equipment may request some online time, but this is not a requirement. I hope this helps to clarify things. Thanks for your time.

Mrs. Sherry
